During the Wind Europe Offshore exhibition in London (6-8 June 2017), Stibbe, Wind Minds and NWEA will organise a high-level expert meeting ‘Experience from the Borssele offshore wind tenders’.

Under a new tender system the Netherlands successfully tendered a total of 1.400 MW. Very competitive bids by DONG Energy for Borssele I and II and by the consortium of Shell, Van Oord, Eneco and Mitsubishi/DGE for Borssele III and IV have set a new standard which appears to have been enhanced by the developments in other countries, such as Germany.

In general, and also driven by the success of the Borssele tenders, the Netherlands has an ambitious offshore wind pipeline for many years to come.

The expert meeting will focus on the experience from the first two tenders and will include a panel session with representatives of the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (Ministry of Economic Affairs), NWEA, Wind Minds and DONG Energy on the current and future status of offshore wind tenders in the Netherlands.
