Stibbe advises LRM on the expansion of Kristal Solar Park
Stibbe acted as project legal advisor to LRM on all aspects of the expansion of Kristal Solar Park, Belgium’s largest solar park.
Located on Nyrstar’s site in Lommel, the park will expand by 35% with the installation of 50,000 additional solar panels across four plots, covering a total of 18 hectares. This will increase the park’s capacity by 35.4 MWp.
Initiated by LRM, the City of Lommel, and Nyrstar, the EUR 12 million investment is expected to become operational by November 2025 and will produce enough green electricity to power 34,000 households annually as of 2026.
The project will place a strong emphasis on ecological restoration, carried out in partnership with Natuurpunt and the Agency for Nature and Forests (ANB).
