Within the Public Law practice group, Sofja represents clients in both civil litigation and administrative law proceedings. She specialises in civil litigation with a public law dimension, governmental liability, general administrative law, public international law and fundamental human rights.

She litigates for and advises clients in the public, semi-public and private sectors (government bodies, organisations in the educational and cultural sectors, NGOs and special interest organisations, and Dutch and international companies). Sofja works on complex administrative and civil law matters with a political component, for example litigating for clients regarding changes in legislation and advising clients in commercial disputes with governmental authorities.

Sofja holds a master’s degree from the University of Cambridge with a focus on human rights and medical law and ethics, and a master’s degree in Civil Law from Leiden University. She also completed the Diploma in Legal Studies programme at the University of Oxford during her bachelor’s degree course.

Sofja is a member of the Dutch Administrative Law Association (VAR).
