In two separate urgent relief proceedings, Stibbe successfully represented KLM Royal Dutch Airlines in blocking ground staff strikes at Schiphol Airport initiated by the trade unions FNV and CNV.

The first ruling, issued on 25 June 2024 by the Haarlem District Court, prohibited a planned 24-hour strike organised by FNV and CNV. The Court found that the strike posed exceptional safety risks and would cause disproportionate disruption to passengers.

The second ruling, delivered on 4 July 2025 by the Amsterdam District Court, prohibited an eight-hour strike planned by the same unions. The Court cited unacceptable safety risks and the potential for major operational disruption during the peak summer holiday season. It concluded that the timing and impact of the strike were incompatible with the public interest and airport safety.
