Stibbe advises on CoolTower Rotterdam landmark project

Stibbe advised a leading European construction company on all legal aspects of several landmark construction projects in the Netherlands, including the CoolTower in Rotterdam’s city centre — a 154-metre residential tower comprising 282 apartments and penthouses, completed at the end of 2022.

Stibbe also represented the company in a dispute with the project developer concerning the compensation of construction costs for an adjacent parking garage featuring Rotterdam’s largest accessible roof garden, as well as claims relating to delay damages and additional works.
Stibbe successfully represented the construction company in multiple court and appeal proceedings, and assisted in reaching a settlement agreement at the beginning of 2024.
