This seminar, the third in our 2025 TMT seminar series, covers the evolving landscape of European digital finance legislation. It will be led by Sophie Brenard, Counsel in our Corporate & Finance practice group, who has extensive experience with financial regulatory matters, and Jan Joos, Associate in our TMT practice group, who mainly focuses on IT contracting, cybersecurity, and data privacy.  

The European Union is rapidly reshaping the financial landscape through a framework of digital finance legislation aimed at fostering innovation, ensuring financial stability, and increasing cybersecurity. This seminar will provide an in-depth overview of the most recent and upcoming regulatory developments affecting financial institutions, fintechs, insurance companies, and other entities in the sector.

Our multi-disciplinary team will guide you through key aspects of European digital finance legislation including:

  • Key features of the draft of EBA Guidelines on sound management of third party risk;
  • Key changes proposed by the new Payment Services Regulation (PSR) and Payment Services Directive (PSD3);
  • Lessons learned after the entry into force of the Digital Operational Resilience Act (DORA) and the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MICAR).
