On Tuesday, November 15, from 1:30 to 6:00 pm, AmCham's Diversity & Inclusion Committee, of which our colleague Soeradj Ramsanjhal is part of, is hosting an event on the drivers of equal opportunity, which will take place at our Amsterdam office.

Speakers from education, the legal industry and business will share the stage during the event to discuss how education, legislation and business can and should contribute to greater equality.

:30-2:00 pm              Reception

2:00-2:05 pm              Opening by Jeroen Kortmann, Partner at Stibbe

2:05-3:05 pm              How Can Education Support Equal Opportunities? Bowen Paulle, Assistant Professor of Sociology of Education at the University of Amsterdam, on the key outcomes of his research and evidence-based statistics on inequality in education and his perspective on potential solutions.

3:05-3:15 pm              Break

3:15-3:55 pm              How Can Legislation Support Equal Opportunities? Astrid Helstone, Employment Law Partner at Stibbe, will focus on the legal enforcement of equal opportunity in Dutch labour practice. Nikki Brouwer-Machielsen, HR Lead Benelux at Salesforce will discuss the meaning of this in a business context.

3:55-4:25 pm              Panel Discussion with all the speakers, moderated by Nilgun Langenberg, Chair of AmCham's Diversity & Inclusion Committee, with an additional contribution by Heleen Terwijn, Founder and Managing Director of IMC Weekenschool.
