Lisa van der Maden

Lisa specialises in (general) administrative law and public law, focusing in particular on compliance & sanctions, supervision & enforcement, and environmental law.

Lisa’s practice primarily consists of advising and litigating on behalf of companies, provincial and municipal authorities, project developers and real estate investors during investigations, inspections and enforcement decisions of supervisory authorities. Relevant topics include environmental law, working conditions, the employment of foreign nationals, and food & product safety. She regularly represents her clients before the courts and in negotiations with relevant authorities.

She has a Master's degree in Law from Tilburg University and completed the Grotius General Administrative Law course in 2021. She attended the Stibbe MBA Highlights Programme at INSEAD in 2020.

Lisa is a member of the Administrative Law Association and the Environment Law Association (an active member of the YOUNG division), as well as member of Stibbe's pro bono committee. She was seconded to an energy company and a fellow German law firm. Lisa is furthermore a strategic legal advisor for Bureau Clara Wichmann.

Evidentiecriterium door de Afdeling ontgroend: weigering om terug te komen van boete evident onredelijk

Short Reads - De Afdeling oordeelt in haar uitspraak van 28 april 2021 (ECLI:NL:RVS:2021:908) voor de eerste keer expliciet dat een weigering om van een in rechte onaantastbaar besluit terug te komen evident onredelijk is. Dat de Afdeling het door haar afgestofte evidentiecriterium nu ook toepast, is een goede reden om deze uitspraak te bespreken in een blog. Ratification of European Climate Law and unveiling of the ‘Fit for 55’ climate package

Included in this discussion was the provisional agreement on the Climate Law that the European Parliament and the Council reached on 21 April 2021. Recent developments gave rise to write this update: the European Parliament has ratified the Climate Law and confirmed the goal of the European Union on climate neutrality by 2050.
