Stibbe advises the Dutch State on government support to Avantium
Stibbe advised the State of the Netherlands on the terms of the government support by way of participation in Avantium N.V.'s €65 million rights offering. Avantium, listed on Euronext Amsterdam and Brussels, is at the forefront of developing renewable and circular plant-based polymer bioplastic materials – technology that's deemed crucial for building a more sustainable future.
The State of the Netherlands, represented by the Ministry of Climate and Green Growth (Ministerie van Klimaat en Groene Groei (KGG)), agreed to provide support by way of a €15 million private placement in Avantium's rights offering. The support provided by the State of the Netherlands reflects KGG's policy to support new innovative companies with a focus on green growth markets.
