Stibbe advises Holland Casino on sale of Zandvoort casino

Opened in 1976, the Zandvoort casino was the Netherlands' first casino and distinguished itself through its unique beachfront location. This made it a recognisable feature of the Zandvoort boulevard. The sale was part of Holland Casino's strategic reorientation aimed at optimising its network of locations across the Netherlands and strengthening the organisation.

Stibbe guided the sales process and provided legal advice on the transaction. The 2,700-square-metre casino building, including the underground car park with 110 spaces, was sold to Zandvoort Municipality. The municipality had previously secured a right of first refusal on the Badhuisplein site.

The sale aligns with the municipality's vision for the integrated development of the Badhuisplein area and its surroundings. The municipality has plans to redevelop this central area, which will feature facilities such as a hotel, apartments, and various commercial and community amenities.
