Legal proceedings on government oversight of the Healthcare Inspectorate in Pelvic Floor Mat Complications

Introduced in 2005 to address pelvic floor prolapse, these products have caused severe side effects in some women, a concern known since 2011. However, it was not until 2020 that the Health and Youth Care Inspectorate took steps to remove them from the market. Stibbe represents Bureau Clara Wichmann in litigation over the Inspectorate's possible negligence. To assess the adequacy of government supervision, a Government Information (Public Access) Act (Wet openbaarheid van bestuur) procedure was initiated in March 2022.
