Marleen specialises in insolvency, restructuring and complex commercial litigation. She advises and represents companies, directors, creditors and shareholders on complex restructurings and in a broad range of insolvency related matters.

Marleen specialises in insolvency, restructuring and complex commercial litigation. She advises and represents companies, directors, creditors and shareholders on complex restructurings and in a broad range of insolvency related matters.
Marleen is regularly appointed as a bankruptcy trustee by the Amsterdam District Court. She also lectures on insolvency law and a broad range of private law related topics, such as directors' liability.
She obtained a master's degree in civil law with a focus on commercial private law and insolvency from Nijmegen University in 2016 (cum laude). Marleen participated in the INSEAD Stibbe MBA Highlight programme in 2021.
Marleen has written numerous articles on insolvency law and banking & finance related topics. She is the president of the board of the Dutch Association of Young Insolvency Lawyers (JIRA).
