On 13 April 2017, the Dutch Diversity Act (Wet streefcijfer evenwichtige zetelverdeling mannen en vrouwen in bestuur) (the “Act”) became applicable.
This Act stipulates that large companies should aim to have both their management board and supervisory board comprised of at least 30% male and 30% female members. Companies publishing their annual reports after 13 April 2017 are obligated to explain therein if they do not comply with this requirement, and the Act applies until 1 January 2020.
