On 17 and 18 November, PILnet will host the 10th Annual European Pro Bono Forum. Stibbe, as an active participant on the pro bono market and member of the PILNet Hosting Committee, will arrange four different workshops throughout the Pro Bono Forum. Stibbe’s Anna Collignon, Jan Truijens Martinez, Jan Peeters, Machteld Claessens and Marieke Spee plan to speak about several interesting subjects in the pro bono and pro deo field.

This year, the 10th Annual European Pro Bono Forum takes place in Amsterdam (Beurs van Berlage). At the forum law firms, corporations, Bar organizations, NGOs, and law schools discuss how they can best collaborate to address critical issues of social justice. During the two days, interactive workshops, engaging social events and structured networking opportunities give the attendees insight into the pro bono community and forge alliances that can help deliver justice and protect rights around the world. The speakers from Stibbe will provide insight into the following subjects:

17 November:

  • Anna Collignon: Pro Bono in the Netherlands: Current opportunities

18 November:

  • Jan Truijens Martinez: Closing Space for Civil Society I: Protecting Human Rights Defenders
  • Jan Peeters: Access to Justice in Belgium & Luxembourg: The Roles of Legal Aid, Pro Bono & Pro Deo

If you wish to attend any of the workshops above, registration for the 10th Annual European Pro Bono Forum is possible via the official website of the Pro Bono Forum 2016.

This is called the Single-Use Plastics Directive and has entered into force this month, on 2 July 2019.
