Stibbe is one of the sponsors of the 8th International Computers, Privacy and Data Protection Conference (CPDP) which takes place at the “Halles de Schaerbeek” in Brussels from 21 through 23 January 2015.

This year's main theme is “Data protection on the move”. Stibbe has a booth at the Conference as well.

On the third and last day of the Conference, Erik Valgaeren chairs a panel session on "Cross-border flow of personal information for financial services”.

Junior associate Carol Evrard also attends the Conference.

KG v Verbraucherzentrale NRW eV,  that a website operator that features “Like” social-media plugin from Facebook likely qualifies as joint-controller with Facebook for its website visitors’ personal data collection and transmission to Facebook.
