Jan creates close working relationships with clients and specialises in employment law and social security law in general, with particular emphasis on complementary pensions and salary optimization and benefits.
Focusing on both individual and collective employment law, Jan handles matters regarding transfer of undertaking and also assists clients with complex litigation matters with respect to employment law issues.
Furthermore, Jan has expertise in pension law, insurance law and salary optimization and benefits with a focus on advice and litigation. In these areas he handles matters regarding occupational pension schemes, including the drafting/amending of pension regulations, pension aspects of corporate transactions and international employment situations, the governance/structure of pension funds, and all pension issues in both the public and private sectors.
Jan has a master’s in law from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) (2009), a complementary master’s degree in pension law from the University of Leuven (KU Leuven) (2013) and obtained a certificate from the multi-disciplinary PensioPlus Academy (2015).
Due to his level of expertise, Jan is a frequent speaker at seminars where he addresses pension-related topics. Jan is a member of the Belgian Pension Lawyers Association (BePla). He was admitted to the bar in 2009.
