On 1 December, Charlotte Conings will participate in M&D’s seminar on corporate criminal law.

She will elaborate on the theme of IT criminal law and focus on the following subjects:

  • the latest developments in criminal investigations for digital evidence;
  • the impact of the implementation on 27 January 2017 of the 25 December 2016 law on the expansion of the BOM law and IT investigation;
  • the (cross-border) obligation to cooperate in the Telecom and IT sectors;
  • the data retention obligation and the European and national jurisdiction thereof.

UBO-register moet medio 2018 operationeel zijn

Short Reads - Medio 2018 zal volgens de voormalige staatssecretaris van Financiën het Ultimate Beneficial Owner (“UBO”) register (“UBO-register”) in Nederland operationeel moeten zijn. In dit register dienen rechtspersonen zelf informatie over hun UBO bij te houden. Het UBO-register moet helpen voorkomen dat het financiële stelsel wordt gebruikt voor het witwassen van geld of voor terrorismefinanciering. Er is tot op heden nog geen wetsvoorstel ingediend.
