We are Stibbe Copyright and Databases specialists

As copyright can be fundamental to our clients’ business, we provide the support and guidance they need to protect or exploit that which matters most to them.

Copyright and Databases

As publishers, database producers, film producers, event and entertainment companies, start-up companies, authors and technology companies invest large sums in creativity and intangible assets, the protection of their works and the exploitation thereof, is vitally important.

We advise a wide variety of parties on issues related to copyright and database rights, ranging from copyright infringement disputes and structuring of copyright exploitation, to data collections protected by database rights and transactions in sectors where copyright or data collections are key assets.

We support production companies, publishers and industrial clients who wish to protect their creations through copyright. In addition, many editors, designers and cartoonists instruct us to protect their rights, for example, through the drafting of licensing agreements.

Our team is also involved in the management of international comic strip characters including activities related to the licensing for publishing, merchandising, promotion, audio-visual & multimedia, video games and amusement parks across the world.
