Janita acts as an adviser, negotiator and litigator for companies and public bodies, advising them on a wide range of public and administrative law issues.

Her areas of expertise include public law, general administrative law, fundamental human rights, and data protection law. Janita also has experience in matters where private and public law intersect, such as governmental liability and the drafting of contracts involving a public body. 

Janita is one of the authors of the annual chronicle on the administrative law aspects of the GDPR, published in the Nederlands Tijdschrift voor Bestuursrecht (Dutch Administrative Law Journal). 

Janita holds a PhD from Radboud University (Nijmegen) on the protection and security of personal data. She also holds a master’s degree in Dutch Law, specialising in Private Law, and a master’s degree in Law & ICT, both from the University of Groningen. She is a member of the Vereniging voor Bestuursrecht (VAR) and the Vereniging Privacyrecht (VPR).
