As a trusted member of our Tax practice group, Elien provides forward-looking and solid tax solutions that meet the specific needs of her clients, taking into account the rapidly changing national and international tax landscape.
Elien assists clients in managing tax audits and finding a solution in case of tax disputes. She also represents clients from various sectors in complex tax litigation matters comprising corporate income tax issues, transfer pricing and VAT. In addition, she advises on the tax aspects of national and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, (re)financing transactions, investments and corporate restructurings.
She was a part-time teaching assistant at KU Leuven and is currently a part-time teaching assistant in the tax department at Ghent University. She teaches ‘Corporate tax policy of SMEs’ at the University Colleges Leuven-Limburg since October 2022. Moreover, Elien is the author of various publications on her areas of expertise and a regular guest speaker at seminars and conferences.
Elien obtained a master’s degree in Law from Ghent University in 2014 and holds a Master of Laws (LL.M.) degree in tax law from the Université libre de Bruxelles (2015). She completed the Stibbe MBA Highlights Programme at INSEAD in Fontainebleau (France) in 2021.
Before joining the Brussels office of Stibbe in 2018, Elien spent three years as a lawyer in the tax department of another independent Belgian law firm.
