Christien specialises in regulatory penalty law and compliance matters.
Christien represents companies in connection with investigations and enforcement actions before the Dutch courts taken by regulatory authorities. In such matters, Christien provides legal advice balanced by practical business advice to companies and individuals.
She has a master’s in Dutch and European law from Radboud University (1998), a master’s in international law from the University of Poitiers, France (1999) and a master’s in administrative law from Radboud University, Nijmegen (2000).
Furthermore, Christien teaches and publishes frequently on regulatory and compliance matters.
She has memberships with the Vereniging voor Bestuursrecht (VAR), the Vrouwennetwerk Bestuursrecht and Vide (association of professionals in the field of supervision, inspection, enforcement and evaluation).
