Brussels, 19 September 2019 – Stibbe welcomes transactional real estate lawyer Matthias Maselis as new partner in its Brussels office. Matthias strengthens Stibbe’s real estate practice and enables the firm to respond to new market demands. Matthias joins Stibbe on 19 September 2019.

The hiring of Matthias Maselis allows Stibbe to respond to the growing market demand for transactional real estate expertise. Matthias has in-depth knowledge of the real estate sector and possesses strong technical and commercial skills to advise clients on all types of property transactions. He focuses mainly on high-profile real estate transactions, advising investors and major developers that are active in the Belgian and Luxembourg markets.

Matthias applies an integrative approach to his practice of law, which is fully aligned with Stibbe’s own multidisciplinary strategy, thus making him a perfect fit for the firm’s real estate practice. Matthias will team up with senior partner Rudy Nauwelaerts and Stibbe’s environment and planning, tax, public and corporate law teams, ensuring a full-service and an integrated offering in the field of real estate law.

About Matthias Maselis – Matthias started his career as a lawyer in 2011. Before joining the Brussels office of Stibbe, he spent 8 years in the real estate practice of a Magic Circle firm, handling matters in the Belgian, Luxembourg and London real estate markets. Before that, he was a business development and investment manager for a major real estate development company. Matthias holds a master’s degree in law from KU Leuven and a master’s degree in General Management from Vlerick Business School.
