Our Benelux delegation at the 8th IBA Finance & Capital Markets Tax Conference

On January 28th and 29th, a delegation of Stibbe Benelux Tax Partners will be at the 8th IBA Finance & Capital Markets Tax Conference. Michael Molenaars and Diogo Duarte de Oliveira will speak at the event, which will also be attended by Henk Verstraete.

Michael Molenaars​ will speak during the "Cross border M&A - financing focused" session, whereas Diogo Duarte de Oliveira will be one of the panelists of the "Tax administration" section.

The IBA Taxes Committee organizes this conference, which is one of the leading events for all tax, corporate, finance and banking lawyers, covering all of the latest advances and issues in corporate finance, tax and capital markets.

Transitional rules announced for certain Dutch tax acts in case of no deal Brexit

UK investment firms will be temporarily exempt from the Dutch licensing requirement as of 30 March 2019

Short Reads - On 4 February, the Dutch Minister of Finance published an amendment to the Exemption Regulation under the Financial Supervision Act (Vrijstellingsregeling Wft). The amendment provides for a temporary exemption from the licencing requirement for investment firms that provide investment services on a cross border basis from the United Kingdom in the Netherlands to professional parties or trade for their own account.
