On 27 September, Stibbe and Bureau Stedelijke Planning will host a seminar for developers of commercial real estate, retailers and officials from municipalities and other government departments  about the consequences of the Appingedam jurisprudence for spatial planning

Read in Dutch

Appingedam jurisprudence

With the judgment of the European Court of Justice and the follow-up ruling of the Council of State in the case of Visser Vastgoed in Appingedam, it has been established that the Services Directive applies to zoning plans that regulate retail. This means that much stricter requirements will be imposed than before, such as  limiting locations for peripheral retail and the maximum size of supermarkets. The seminar will consider the impact of Appingedam  on existing practice and spatial planning in the future.

Speakers:

  • Jan van Oosten (lawyer Stibbe)
  • Toine Hooft (senior consultant retail and leisure, Bureau Stedelijke Planning)
  • Rick Zijderveld  (senior account manager/retail consultant , Municipality of the Hague)

Practical information:

Date: 27 September 2018 (13:30 – 18:00 hours)
Location: Stibbe, Beethovenplein 10, 1077 WM Amsterdam
