On Thursday 25 October, Agoria's Regulatory and Standardization Expertise Center organizes its 5th information day about regulations and standards for topics including international trade, privacy and contract law, transport, Internet of Things and blockchain, eHealth, ... at regional, national and European level.

You can choose from no less than 16 sessions, amongst which a session on “Intellectual Property Rights - Monetization, M&A and licenses” during which Stibbe's IP partner Ignace Vernimme and IP associate Michiel Van Roey will focus on the commercialization and valorization of IP rights in licensing negotiations & mergers and acquisitions (M&A).

The topics include IP portfolio management, IP portfolio valorization, commercialization of IP rights through licensing and collaborations and the best practices and pitfalls for IP due diligence in the course of an M&A process.

Adopting the new Standard Contractual Clauses to secure international personal data transfers

Short Reads - Recently, the European Commission issued an implementing decision on standard new contractual clauses (“SCCs”) for the transfer of personal data to countries outside the European Economic Area. Organisations need to use the new SCCs from 27 September 2021 and onwards. Transitional periods apply for existing international data transfer agreements.
