In een brief waarschuwt de AFM fondsbeheerders die cryptofondsen willen beheren voor de strenge AIFMD-eisen waar zij aan moeten voldoen. De AFM gaat kritisch kijken naar de wijze waarop een crypto-beheerder voldoet aan deze eisen over onder andere liquiditeitsbeheer, waardering en productontwikkeling.

In een column voor Fondsnieuws gaat Suzanne Kröner-Rosmalen nader in op deze brief en blikt zij vooruit op een studie van het Europees Parlement over de impact van virtuele valuta’s.
