Stibbe maintains its position as independent top firm in the Benelux

Stibbe has considered a proposal by its Alliance partner Herbert Smith to enter into merger talks. We have decided not to change our current course. Stibbe is maintaining its independence in accordance with its strategic objective of being the leading internationally oriented law firm in the Benelux region.

Stibbe has principal establishments in the Benelux countries, as well as offices in New York, London and Dubai. Stibbe will continue to offer its clients international access to its network of top-tier firms abroad, including those in the US and the upcoming economies. Although the Alliance has been terminated, Stibbe may still work together with Herbert Smith and Gleiss Lutz (who has also decided not to enter into merger talks), and also with other top-tier firms if they would better fit the client or matter. We will continue to offer our clients the best international support possible for each individual matter.

In addition we will adhere to our own Stibbe approach, in which quality and service are fundamental. This year Stibbe is celebrating its 100th anniversary in the Netherlands and was voted Benelux Law Firm of the Year. We are confidently looking forward to the next century of Stibbe.
