Barbara Bier

Barbara is a former partner of Stibbe and now of counsel. She specialises in (financial) restructurings, codes of conduct/ethics, corporate governance, capital protection rules, liability of managing directors and supervisory directors and other matters of company law for national and international (listed) clients.
Barbara is a professor of corporate law and corporate governance at the Nyenrode Business Universiteit and regularly teaches at post graduate courses at different institutes. Furthermore, Barbara is a member of the Combined Committee on Company Law, instituted by the Dutch Royal Notarial Association and the Dutch Bar Association and a member of the Board of the Commercial law Association (Vereeniging Handelsrecht). She is an editor of Tijdschrift voor de Ondernemingsrechtpraktijk (magazine for corporate law), Goed Bestuur (corporate governance magazine) and member of the editing board of SDU Comments on corporate law and the Corporate Governance Yearbook.
