Sophie Zwartkruis-Bakker

Sophie specialises in corporate law and mergers and acquisitions, with a specific focus on private equity.

Sophie is a senior associate at the corporate practice group of Stibbe. She worked at Stibbe’s New York office from September 2013 to May 2015. Sophie advises national and international clients on both cross border and national corporate transactions, such as private equity investments, strategic acquisitions, joint ventures and corporate restructurings. Sophie routinely advises clients on a broad range of complex corporate matters including corporate governance and commercial agreements.

Sophie studied Dutch law at Utrecht University and graduated in 2008 with a minor in art history. She attended the Stibbe MBA Highlights Programme on corporate finance and business strategy at INSEAD (2012).

Sophie is a member of the supervisory board of Landgoed Vilsteren B.V., a family-owned estate, and a member of the supervisory board of Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts, a well-known academy for performance artists in the Netherlands. Sophie regularly teaches on corporate law and mergers and acquisitions.
