Miriam assists clients in all tax aspects of their international business. With her longstanding career in Germany, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong, she has a wealth of knowledge about various tax jurisdictions. Her clients include multinational groups, banks, private equity funds, and real estate funds.
Miriam graduated in law from the University of Trier. She is a certified tax adviser in Germany, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong, and a member of the bars of Germany (1999) and Luxembourg (2017). Miriam handled some of the largest Chinese transactions ever.
Prior to joining Stibbe, Miriam was a solicitor to the court for the Ministry of Justice of Nordrhein-Westfalen for 3 years and Director International Tax and Alternative Investments at various offices (Germany, Luxembourg, and Hong Kong) of a Big Four firm for 17 years. She joined Stibbe’s Luxembourg office as counsel in December 2016.
Miriam frequently speaks at conferences and is known for making complex tax matters easy to understand. She writes about international tax matters regularly, which are published in various well-known, international tax journals. In 2014, Miriam was recognized as one of the 100 leading ladies in private equity by the magazine Privaty Equity International (PEI).
