Diogo Duarte de Oliveira

Diogo advises investment firms and multinational companies on their fund raising structures, cross-border holding, financing, IP licensing and supply chain strategies. 

He is also heavily involved in private clients’ wealth management structures. Diogo advises families, entrepreneurs, top executives, artists and sportsmen.

Diogo started his career in Portugal and has built his international tax experience in the Netherlands, Mexico, and Luxembourg, where he has been practising since 2006.

He often publishes technical articles in renowned international tax magazines. In addition, Diogo regularly acts as a guest speaker or panelist around the world. He is a member of the executive committee in charge of legal/tax initiatives at the Portuguese-Luxembourg Chamber of Commerce (CCILL) and a member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA) and International Bar Association (IBA).

Articles - In light of the global Base Erosion and Profit Shifting (BEPS) initiative and the European developments against tax evasion and aggressive tax planning, two European Directives were adopted in July 2014 and January 20151 by the European Council, amending the Parent-Subsidiary Directive (2011/96/EU). These two Directives, in a nutshell, aim to introduce anti-hybrid and general anti-abuse rules into EU domestic tax laws.
