Temporary unemployment due to force majeure: extension of simplified procedures

On 7 May, 2020, the ONEM/RVA has modified its instructions: the simplified procedures for temporary unemployment due to force majeure resulting from the Covid-19 crisis can be applied up to and including 30 June, 2020.

Despite the implementation of phases that will allow to move out from the lockdown, the ONEM/RVA continues to apply the concept of force majeure in a flexible manner. It still accepts to consider all situations of temporary unemployment related to Covid-19 as temporary unemployment due to force majeure, even if, for example, it is possible for some companies to have their employees work for a few days.
